It's this, isn't it?

Every HD channel will also have a non-HD version on a different number

If you want to record something on BBC 1, record it on 101 and press the green button to series link it. That will record it every time it's on on the fuzzy non-HD channel. BBC2 will be 142, ITV will be 103, channel four 104.

Even the sports channels have versions that make you believe your glasses are dirty.

Isn't that the answer?

Hmmmm... I'm cautiously optimistic. Do all the non HD channels have predictable numbers?

There is a workaround...

You need one of these:

You can program the blue button to cycle through your favourite channels, I have ours set to cycle through the main FTA HD channels. No reason you couldn't do the same with the SD versions.

Tom does not like blue.

This idea has merit, although I would have to make all the channels favorites and list them in the same order as the ones on the 'All channels' tab.

BTW- I would produce a list of the things that Tony doesn't like, but the letters on my keyboard are growing faint as it is.
