.....with Jools Holland must be the best regular Live Music show on UK TV by some way, & it returns this evening on BBC2.

It's been on air for some 20 years now, & it broadcast right around the world.

Jools has  a wonderful array of talents himself, & his jam session at the top of each show is a joy to watch. One of the great TV shows ever.

Even better, tonight's acts include Squeeze. He joined Squueze just after it formed, in the early 70's, so that should be a great set tonight.  




 


They were pretty damn good, too.

Jools is an amazingly complex & lovable character, & it makes me happy just to see & listen to him.

Before the Internet was invented, and even afterwards, this show is the place my Dad and I would discover new music.

Fantastic show. I especially liked to be allowed to 'stay up late' to watch it.

Best ever performance? There's a question - take your pick!

Back in my teens my Auntie gave me a box of singles that my cousin had left behind when he moved out.  As he was about 10 years older than me, this introduced me to a whole new world of music.

One of my favourites within that box was "Cool For Cats".  Love that song as a result.
