End of transfer fees?

Was reading on the train up to Newcastle there is a legal challenge afoot to put footballers in same boat as normal employees. For example they can just hand in notice when they want a move and no transfer fees.
Thoughts on implications? Off top of my head this will cut both ways. Wouldn't want to be Wilshire (injuries), Suarez (global ban for nibbling) or Adebayor (attitude) in the brave new world for example? Also must mean end of transfer windows.
Will clubs abandon youth development or will it just be like a bank taking on graduates?
If you were a premier league footballer would you want this? As a league 1 footballer?

Hmm. It was in yesterday's Times but can't find it online. It implied players could just hand in their notice.

I read that if players wanted to hand in notice they would have to buy themselves out at a market worth price
