Who remembers this? Few of us 40+ will for sure...

She just popped up on Graham Nortons show tonight, this was where the Simpsons cartoon started, I'd forgotten about that. I remember it and used to really look forward to it just for that. Apparently she is minted now because she has royalties in the Simpsons...lives in the US now, good on her.

She has a new show starting here next week....

Her connection to the Simpsons is massively underrated. It wasn't like a cartoon was played during her show while she and her cast were having a fag. The people she got for her sketch show helped do the voices to save cost and they included Julie Kavner and Dan Castellanata: that's Marge and Homer to you and me. She did a couple of minor voices herself, I believe.

Most people in the UK would walk past her without even knowing who she is but she has won an incredible amount of awards for a variety of comic work.

I think the 'Girls on Top' sitcom was massively underrated because it was always in the shadow of the Young Ones (For those that don't know it was a flatshare sitcom with her, Ruby Wax and French and Saunders at the same time as the Young Ones, and it was what got her the initial invite to her show in the US).
