Was this the one where Mr Cool passes middle set on the river to Junior's top set, described by Jesse as "the best laydown ever"? (Marc was talking about it across a table tonight in the Walsall comp)

someone describe the hand to me please...sounds like an unbelievable laydown

For my money it was excellent to watch. Anyone who has played with Greg regularly would not have underestimated him. He is class - don't doubt it. Barney was very big to admit as much - real class from Barney there. My hat is off to him.

As for Lucy's commentary, I liked it. She may have underestimated Greg too but she admits to having not seen him before. She probably expected some of the moves we've all seen from some of the qualifiers on other shows! Who can blame her?

Greg has raised the bar for first time TV appearances. No more of that "lump it in with top set on the flop coz I'm an internet qualifier" nonesense please! THIS is the TV we wanna see.

Good stuff Greg.

It was an excellent watch and very well played jnr. Having watched loads of supposedly lesser players lose all the ballsy play they may have on the internet when faced by the pros in a live situation, it was nice to see someone not willing to roll over for them.

thanks for the comments everyone. - i was a bit dissappointed with Lucy's comments early on about being over-awed.  I didn't have any nerves at all really.  I think it helped a little that i was in the bar quite late the previous night with mr cool, the rookie and barney, which meant i had gotten to know and chat to them for a while - turns out i had played county golf against marc before a few years ago (Notts vs Warwickshire).

With the blinds so low and the clock so slow, i couldn't see the point of getting too involved early on so just sat back, occasionally betting top set  Cheesy Cheesy.  How Marc did not go broke in that hand i will still never know! - i think he was actually trapping on the flop with 666 and had me on AA or KK and when the A landed on the turn he put me on AAA so didn't go for the re-pop.  had a low card come on 4th street i would imagine he would have done the lot in (as we say in Notts).

Barney - thanks for your kind words at the end, you too are a gent.  I didn't realise some of the massive hands you had early on with 777 and KKK (disguised both times).

Overall a great experience.  yes, i had the run of the card at the right times but i felt i picked my spots to play and was extremeley hppy with my play.  At one time Christer was pulling me to pieces 3 and 4 handed - we had a break and i had a quiet chat with myself.  i came back out firing and i don't think he expected it.

can't wait to watch it again as i missed alot of the commentary amongst the laughter of my family taking the piss out of me being on the telly.

No laydown. River brought a potential flush and 78 would've flopped nuts. Junior had 10 10 Marc 6 6 Flop 10 6 9.. Turn Ace..river can't recall but put flush up too....both checked river. The great part of Marc's play was not losing his stack with set vs set.

Great show though, well done Greg
