Was just trying to clarify, some webpages will treat you as logged in if you have a valid session ID in the URL.

Anyway, I am no longer logging out at random the forum no longer inserts a session ID into the URL when I login.

IE shows no cookie for me. Firefox shows a cookie being created that expires at the end of the session. My guess is that this is due to the different browsers handling session cookies differently and not some sort of glitch that prevents IE from creating a cookie.

I think i still have to log in everytime though, I will verify this now.

edit: Yes I still have to log in.

My appologies ironside i didn't understand you meant to use the url with the session id in it to return.
Just tried it, it doesn't work.
We will just have to wait till they fix the cookie maker.
Session id is only temporary, it is only cached in the browsers memory for twenty minutes or until the browser is closed.

Has this sorted itself out for you guys yet? If not, let me know, & we wll try & fix it.

I must say, it's still not quite right on my computer. It often logs itself out, & the blue "NEW" signs, which indicate a new post, don't always work.

This followed the incident when we had to change servers mid WSOP, nightmare city. I was reluctant to ask the blonde techies to fiddle about with it any more during the WSOP, as it would have been too awful for words if it had fallen over again. At the time, site traffic was huge.

But now things have calmed down a bit, we oughta fix it if it's still not right.

So, does it still need fixing guys?

Yp, there is an auto login problem, if anyone is away from the site for more than 20mins they must login in again.
Just tell whoever is your 'puter whizz it's the cookie, they'll understand.
