1000 chips, starting blinds of 50/100.

10 minute clock.

What internet site is this on ? Errr actually this is live, at the new Sit n Go tournaments running at the Hollywood here in Tunica.

$50 buy in with an additional $15 dollar juice. and the tables fill up faster than you would believe (10 players). Its a "winner takes all" structure.

I just played one - and won !! It was fairly straightforward after an early double up with AQ on an A Q x board, set all in with a guy with pocket kings. The whole thing took 40 minutes.

We gets down to headsup and the old guy says "we normally chop it when we get down to 2". I said no, he wasnt very pleased...but hey thats too bad.

I told him after I beat him, I could see why he preferred to chop rather than play headsup.  He didnt get that.

So i've now been here all of 1 hour, and already got $500 in casino chips....I see a mini baccarat table calling me over...

not dissimilar to that of party pokers televised crapshoot.

will hill do "thunder" six packs now where there are only six hands per level and fifteen seconds to make your choice.

i think the poker sites are wising up to the fact that people want forced action like they are led to believe happens on the tv.

ill tell you a little story about a bad structure .  .  .

a few weeks ago i went to play in a league tourney in my local working mans club.
ive played there before won a 10 week tourney for £200 decent structure - not great but easy money.

went back a couple of weeks ago.
 starting chips 9000 - level 1 blinds - 400 / 800 levels up every round - 9 handed
so effectively the starting stack was enough for eleven betsand if you found a raising hand like AK you were committed all in from hand 1.

suffice to say it was a 2 table tourney - i made the final table after 5 hands without touching a chip.

2 hands into the final table im dealt 88 - theres a raise before me of 6000 i have 9000 - i go all -in to get beaten by KJ on the flop

so basically i played 1 hand in this tourney and made the final table . then told them i wouldnt be back unless they get their finger out their arse

sit and go's in monte carlo had terrible structure.

On the first day thay were great, 2500 chips 18 min blinds starting at 25/50. By day 3 they were 1500 chips and 12min levels. Thats just a clear display of greed.

Were it not for the 30% juice, I'd play them all day long.

Congratulations on telling an old guy where to go. Serves him right, "we usually chop it" indeed.

Chop this matey-boy.

latest story to report.....

playing in the $2/$5 nl cash game at the grand, tunica . another one of these old guys "who knows everything" starts talking in his southern drawl, commenting on my game

"buddy, remind me when you leave, cos I dont want to be on the road the same time as you"

I said "what makes you think I will be leaving first ?"....haha

ten minutes later I am holding K Q on a flop of Q Q J. I check, he bets I call. Turn card comes a K, I check, He checks. River comes a rag of nothing I can remember. I bet about 100 bucks into a 200 buck pot. he says "half pot bet on the river ? I reraise all in, which included the 2 100 dollar bills sitting at the bottom of his stack. I said

"its a shame you aint got any more cash there....call".

He turns over pocket rockets, and puts on his coat. as he walks away from the table I shout over

"hey buddy" and he walks back a bit ...i say

"drive safely now"

some really funny stories to report on this trip. including my "friend" making a $200 river bet when heads up with me in the pot. the dealer turns to me and says "I think you need to pick your friends a bit more carefully".

Sounds like the $50 SnG's at last years WSOP.

Hellish.

If you dont chop they look at you like you are a criminal.
