Just to explain, the new member posted a link to a post on the Gutshot forum in which certain allegations were made.

This initial post was then copied onto a number of other blonde threads, which we have been removing

Bear with us while the team discusses the post and decides what to do with it . We'll let you know

...and please don't be stirring it up!

We have good relations with the other UK Poker Sites, & we intend to maintain that. We don't Link to them, & they don't Link to us.

Nor do we allow flaming of other Poker Sites.

So please bear with us, as Tighty has already said, while we sort it out.

Thanks.

Dingdell has made some excellent points on the gutshot forum and the general consensus seems to be there are good and bad on both forums but people are a lot more friendly and helpful on here.   A poker challenge has been made and its all very harmless stuff IMO - other than the accusation of collusion which has been defended and withdrawn by the accuser.

Thanks Pokerron. I do object to being accused (albeit as a group) of soft play. We've had that discussion on blonde before. My reply on the gutshot site was:

"The one thing that really cheesed me off about the first post about Blonde was the suggestion that they could be guilty of soft play.

The person that stated that should be very careful - I have been in loads of tournament on line with other blondites and never have I ever witnessed any soft play.

One thing about blonde is that the poker players are fiercely competitive - yes we will encourage other players - I asked for advice today about the wsop qualifiers and was given lots of help but to suggest soft play is defamatory.

We all want to win (a necesarry and admirable quality in poker) and if it means beating another blonde member so be it - they are in our way of getting to the final table and winning the comp.

What benefit would there be to soft playing another blonde member? There is no consortium, no profit structure, no bonus share scheme for being a blondite.

If nothing else that post was insulting to me as a poker player. Enough said."

Having played cash with Tight End live and on line and I can confirm no soft play was evident......as other players at the Vic will confirm it was competitive play! Grin And all the more fun for it.

Hi guys,

Another peaceful afternoon......!

I just thought I'd bring you up to speed, we promised earlier to let you know.

It's been a bit of a "hot" afternoon, I was trying, along with The Mods, to keep the lid on this, still sorting out last night's fire - PM's galore coming in to me - and trying to play the Laddies $250, in whch I managed to squander a big chip lead to eventually end up 3rd. (Any excuse for a chirp....).

We need to put this afternoon in it's right context.

It's a blonde rule that we don't flame, offend or insult other Poker Sites, and, we hope, they reciprocate in kind. I get on fine with Derek & Barry at Gutshot, & have had many a happy evening there. To the best of my knowledge, blondes have never flamed any other poker site, or their Members. Long may it last.

OK, a Member signed up as "Gutshot Owns You" - OK - but he then started putting Posts all over blonde speaking ill of blonde & blondeites, including (later withdrawn) accusations that blondes indulge in soft-play against each other. Yeah, right.....!

The Mods & I agreed that this could only go one way - a mud-slinging contest, & who needs that? A "fight fiight fight" Post appeared on blonde, but Tighty & I asked everyone to cool it, & not dignify the comments by arguing. To the eternal credit of the blondes, it calmed down on here after that - I was well proud!

Meanwhile, blonde Posts on the issue were being Cut & Pasted onto Gutshot Forum.

But it got hotter & hotter on Gutshot, they (Gutshot Posters) were having a field day at our expense, insulting us left right & centre, but no matter, let them was my view.

Dingdell, in particular, (but a few others too) posted polite, well-reasoned rebuttals, fair play to her for doing so in an honourable, polite & dignified way. In fact I think she elicited an apology for the "slow-play/colluding " accusation.

The fire burned for an hour or two, & then a Post appeared on Gutshot, by one of their most regular Posters, (and, therefore, presumably an accepted Member) attacking Rhowena. They attacked Rhowena, behind her back, & made suggestions about her personal morals. How nice....... I'm delighted to say, the Post was soon Deleted, I hope by the Gutshot Management, but I really don't know or care that much.

As it stands right now, a well-intentioned blondeite (I assume) is Posting some stuff on Gutshot, "stone-throwing" really, & while I am grateful for the spirited defence, I really don't want anyone from here getting involved.

They can do their thing, & we will do ours. Only harm can come from dignifying their accusations by getting involved in kind.

References were also made to Online Cardrooms, it being suggested they have one, & we don't. Whatever......

And a Challenge was issued, either/and a Team Event, or a Forum Challenge. I don't really approve of Team Events - they invite collusion, lets be honest. I would have been amenable to a Forum v Forum challenge, but given the things that were said, in particular about Rhow, behind her back, I think that's one best left for another day, another time. I can imagine many blondes would be pretty upset about the attack on Rhow, so it would be a bit "personal", so that's that scuppered. They can, indeed have, accused us of running scared. So be it. Hard to imagine how Dave would handle it too, playing with peeps who make unprovoked slurs on his wife's nature..... I think that one's a no-no now!

I could not be more proud of the restraint the blondes have shown this afternoon. Accused of being "treacly sweet" & "nice" we may be, but we, the blonde Membership, run our place the way we like it, & they can run theirs howsoever they wish. I rung Barry Martin mid-afternoon in an attenpt to get things calmed down - one assumes their Management were not aware of the "darker" stuff flying around - but he as in Lanzarote, on holiday with his family. I tried to ring Derek Kelly, but I could not get through, maybe I took his number down wrong from Barry. Nobody from Gutshot has contacted me personally.

Please don't add to the fire by getting involved with the attempted "Forum War". It's just not something that grown-ups do, reallly. A Post was made which alluded to the Legality of the Gutshot Card Club. blonde apologise for that, if it came from a blondeite, that's not the line from blonde at all - we wish Gutshot well in their attempt to liberalise the poker scene.

PS - As of right now, more "innuendo" is being thrown at Rhow, by the original mud-slinger, presumably because one of our Members - I assume - has  has slung a little retaliatory mud their way. And thats EXACTLY why it makes no sense to descend to that level.

Ignore it, is my advice.

Tomorrow is another day. I hope to retain my warm relationships with Derek & Barry, & all my many pals at Gutshot, so let's turn the other cheek & move on. Let the children play.
