Off the cards
PROOF that you need a poker face to win at, well, poker comes from Glasgow poker club the Cincinnati, in Bridge Street. That was where former World Series finalist Dave Colclough, a Liverpool fan, insisted at the club's official opening that the telly in the corner show Liverpool in the FA Cup final rather than the Hearts v Gretna game.
Distracted by the six-goal thriller and the penalty shootout, Dave was sent packing from the $50,000 tournament in less than two hours.
Poker pro Tony Chessa, who was alongside Dave in the Littlewoods poker.com team, mourned: "We would have won if Dave had stayed in a little bit longer. I think he was happy to see one of his teams win on Saturday. Sadly for us, it was Liverpool."

The Diary is a collection of wee funny stories, so they will sometimes stretch things.
