Keith i use my computer for the same needs. To be honest the most important thing is the monitor. I would select that then work from there. You don't need much power for the task, but the monitor is crucial.
Here we go again - where were all these responses when I asked whether re-sizeable tables would kill the need for hi-res monitors?  Cheesy

You still have to look at the monitor all the time.

A better one is likely to strain your eyes less and allow you to keep "fresh" for longer.
