Folding a Full House

 I think this is the first time ive folded a Full House. Ive folded straights , trips etc. but this was hard

 I had to fold it right ? ? ?

 the only hand I have to fear on the flop is AJ ( AA is unlikely as he limped in preflop )

 so im slow playing , i didnt know if any of them had an ace , they both checked the flop.

 so i thought about putting in a value be to entice a raise from anyone holding an ace but didnt want to scare them away.

 he bets 2/3 pot on the turn ( blank -    )

 so i flat called intending to stack him on the river , providing it wasnt a bad card for me. of course the  is the worst card in the deck for me here , and he goes all in.

 what else could he have ? i think it was the correct fold.

 any opinions?

At those levels any Ace is played preflop so he could well have one.
However, a flush probably plays this the same way too

I had to make a similar laydown last night in a cash game.

UTG raises to $10, he's ultra tight and has only turned over two hands in about 3 hours but he's not trying to nick pots, what i call an honest player.

I flat call in the bb with QQ

no other callers and flop comes 9QK.

I check raise and he flat calls, now i'm sure he's got AK, he's putting me all in with AA KK or 10J so I know i'm winning.

Turn brings a King, the pots big and i dont think he can get away from he's hand, i put in a big bet and he flat calls.

River brings a 9 and he moves all in, i have to fold with nearly half my money in the pot.

Its stupid to re-evaluate someones hand out of desperation when the turn or river takes the hand in a different direction

If someone played a flush like this, i'd fall off my seat, get back up and take all his chips.

what stacks were you both playing sounds like you should have got it all in on the turn and then you wouldnt have to worry about the river.

 yeah i didnt think anyone could play a flush like this.

 looking at it i think the turn was the critical point in the hand.

 if i raised a significant raise - say to $8 - he most likely would have been comitted to going all in if he did have Ace rag.

 but my thinking at the time was to flat call then get them in on the river if a blank card came , so i think it was just bad luck for the running 5's to counterfeit my Jacks Full.

I'm no cash game expert but i reckon at these levels there is no need to try and get fancy - for me i reraise on the turn and put the pressure back on him to call with his ace.

True you would have lost more money than you did on this occassion but in the long run you will make more of a profit with basic ABC poker.
