As an avid reader of Red's stories (poker related or otherwise), I've noticed a real lull in Red's posting. I hope everything's OK. Providing everything is OK  Wink

Cheesy  No, that's just being silly.  The virtual life is better on Blonde.  I haven't seen a real person since January

Hi Rod, thanks for your concern, and your kind words.

I have been a bit quiet lately. Not intentionally, I've just been a bit 'preoccupied'

One of the reasons is that my temporary planning permission for the place where I live expires in February. I have to prepare my argument for the new application, and while this process is not too time consuming at the moment, it does occupy my mind a great deal. What ever decision the powers that be make, it will be life changing for me.

A am also working hard on my game. I'm going through a bit of a dry spell, and I think this is a great opportunity to learn some lessons. I'm not so naive as to think I can play poker for the rest of my life without running into these bad patches. I actually welcome the challenge of holding it all together and continuing to play my best game when whatever I do goes wrong. Bad beats and bad runs are the very essence of poker, if I can't cope, I shouldn't be playing.

My youngest granddaughter (9 months) developed an ulcer on her eye. She was in a lot of pain and the doctors said she could lose the sight in it. It worried me a lot. Then, after about a week it started to get better, now it's completely healed.

If all this sounds like I am feeling sorry for myself, I'm not. Like everyone else, I do get a little "down" from time to time, but it doesn't take me long to realise how lucky I am. My life has been extraordinary. Filled with excitement, wonder, love, and beauty.  I have been extremely fortunate. The least I can do is appreciate it.

So, the short answer to your question is, "I'm fine, thanks" (But I'm touched that you asked)

Good to hear from you Red.

Glad the wee one's OK - it's always worrying when a young child is ill.

Keep us all informed about your planning application - we can get a damn big petition up in your favour if need be.

See you at BB3.

Hey Guys Smiley

I post when I can .. and lurk an awful lot (as you all know I am the shy retiring type...). Having changed my job at the start of the year, I can't actually live on blonde like I used to - I am online all day, but I am actually working now LOL

I started the new job as the UK Community Manager for a very large teen chat site in February, and now also run their Player Support, and was made acting manager for the whole country operation last week. I manage 32 moderators and 12 in house staff.

I'm around on MSN for any of the mods should they need an opinion on anything, (or even a chat!) and usually pop in during my lunchbreak, and hang around at night, I just can't sit in the forum the way I used to. But I still give opinions on moderation issues and certainly read everything, just not as up to the minute as was my norm.

Add to that the fact that I am still caring for my sister most weekends, and a parent during weeknights, it's no wonder I don't eally have a social life LOL

Thanks for your concern though IFM Smiley
