I would just like to offer my thanks to all at Grosvenor Walsall for allowing us to invade them for the very successfull Blonde Bash # 3

It can't be easy when a couple of hundred alcohol fueled, poker crazed oddballs are running around your gaff, but they took it all in their stride, and made it a terrific event.

Everyone entered into the spirit of things. Although they were working under pressure while we were enjoying ourselves they did a great job, and what's more, they did it with a smile on their face.

So, Thanks to the management for agreeing to have us, and for letting us do 'almost' as we wanted. (I hope your ribs heal soon Paul, I told you not to dive off that wardrobe!)

Thanks to the cardroom supervisors. True professionals in everything they do (except football)

Thanks to the dealers. What would we do without them? I don't know how they kept their concentration

Thanks to the valiant souls who were on reception when the horde descended, and my apologies to Liz (Who I am secretly in love with) on behalf of the crotchety old fart who pushed through the crowd and demanded to be let in without filling in the form because he is a member at the Vic. He was executed this morning!

Thanks to the kitchen staff, who cooked about 200 meals in 15 minutes, 75 of which were for Colchester Kev

Thanks to the bar staff, who dispensed enough alcohol to give half the Australian Navy brewers droop.

Thanks to the cleaners, the unsung hero's of any place where people eat, drink, smoke, and perform miscellaneous bodily functions.

Last, but very definitely NOT least. Thanks to the gorgeous valets, who were run off their feet all night, but got through it all without strangling anyone.

Special mention for Claire. She is ever smiling, ever beautiful, and always looks after me.

Thanks Guys!!

I would like to echo all of that

Also thanks to Caroline for handling the registration process so well, but not for pointing out to everyone in the queue that I was taking women into their storage room. I had my reasons, honest.

Dani Versace for his patience when we were fretting about the competition structure

Quentin for helping us out by going the extra mile in the week beforehand

Paul Mr Big Boss Davies for agreeing to it in the first place

Liz "Poppet19". No reason, just thanks!

Katie the dealer: Just say "five" again Katie!

and all the bar staff, valets, dealers as RED says..

Cheers

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by Walsall, compared to expectations.  The venue was closer to The Broadway than to Luton, which I'd not expected (in terms of facilities, not personnel, in case anyone from Luton reads this).

The cardroom staff coped brilliantly with everything - heads up games, the comp itself, plus the odd Omaha Hi/Lo SnG here and there!  I also thought the bar staff and waitresses did a great job, particularly as they had two periods (the start of the day and the dinner break) when practically everyone there was ordering at the same time.

Great effort, much appreciated.

I would also like to join in with a few words of praise for the guys at Walsall,

Dani was superbly relaxed and confident, and can play footy a bit (looked a bit of a poser in his different coloured boots though Wink )

Zak, was his usual laid back self, always smiling even when he was telling me off for smoking 1 inch over the barrier LOL,

Sweet carolyn, she is lovely .... she laughs at my jokes and is a bundle of energy, very confident and assured, but does everything with a smile.

wayne, Liz, and all the dealers .... superb every single one, I was told by senior management at the casino that the dealers were talking at shift breaks and saying how much they were enjoying dealing , and that the atmosphere was something that blew them away. He also said that he had never heard such positive comments from the dealers at any casino EVER !!

All in all it was a successfull , enjoyable, well run and good humoured event, and the Team at Walsall played a big part in that.

So to all of you from all of us...

THANK YOU

Top Notch, every single one of them, an evening for the memory bank, never to be forgotten.

I was there again last night (Liz, did you give that you know what to Claire?) & the Staff seemed to have enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

See you all again soon, next Monday probably, & thank you.

I'm old Liz, I get confused. I actually meant Claire, but I intended to mention Raylene too...

There's no hope for me is there?

Only downside for me was that they didn't deal me an ace on the flop when my opponent had pocket kings. It is surely an unwritten rule that an ace must appear whenever a  goes all in against pocket kings.
Apart from that my thanks as well.
