I did no good, busting out, with about 25 players left, but I had such fun.
I had Micky Wernick on my immediate left, I have tried to incorporate a lot of Mickey's game into mine, and last night he took the time to explain to me the reasoning behind some of his plays.
Then there was Peter 'The Bandit' Evans. and 'Sir' Lawrence Gosney, trying to out talk and out play each other.
Sandwiched between these two was 'The mad Turk' (From Turkey) Very dangerous, but his chips are always on offer.
Ash 'The Cash' Pervaise. Great reader of the game, and a wonderful raconteur.
Frankie Knight. Old school, been around for ever, seen it all, done it all. He rarely speaks, but when he does, it's worth listening. Last night, the dealer was doing a very delicate shimmy, Frankie watched in obvious frustration. Eventually he could stand it no longer, and advised in a soft voice "Carefull son, you'll mix em up!"
I should have to pay for the privilege of sitting at a table like that.
Come to think of it, I DID!!
