Managing your bank roll properly is not to be underestimated as a massive part of the game.  You do all your dough - you can't play! -

Make sure you are playing within your limits and don't overplay yourself (start small and try and build) - oh, and keep all poker money seperate from the money used for boring stuff like food and amenities - saves grief from the missus that way!

with regards to yours and snoopy's comments.. when i was working, i could think of nothing but poker.  i was always so tired at work due to late nights at the felt and early mornings, i eventually ended up doing nothing but surfing the net on poker forums and info sites.  It became a joke! - i was soo bad at my job and lacked so much commitment because i didn't care - there's nothing wrong with poker consuming your life - you love the game and thats that!
