The Celebrity Poker Showdown (or whatever it's called) from across the pond has to be the worst. Annoying beyond belief.

I have to agree here - if this was the series in which John McCririck flat called on the turn a decent proportion of his stack with just a gutshot straight draw, hit the nuts on the river and then folded.  Although that vignette was almost too good to be true, the rest is just nonsense.

naming no names but

the one with Grub Smith commentating is a joke ,

i was watching this shit and the very first hand of a sit n go , somebody has 33 in middle position , blinds at 10/20

Grub Smith - '' i dont like the flat call there , everybodys passed round to him ( 3 players ) , id like to see a raise there ,

a bet of 2 or 300 would be making a statement , but lets see how he does . ''

yeah lets put a bet of 15 big blinds in on the very first hand with 33 and then fold when an A , K or Q comes on the flop

 Grub eh ? that would be making a statement , - '' im a fecking fish '' i believe

Blinds are never 10/20 on these tv tournaments?? And if (and I'm assuming) its the usual 6 handed format, then raising with 33 in middle position is not bad play. Blinds I'm also presuming are 100/200 - these tv tournaments like to have lots of chips and large blinds. But if its 10/20 as you suggest then the raise of 15 big blinds is rather large Smiley 3x the BB and then when a big card comes of the flop you bet out and represent strength....... Maybe I'm just a big fecking fish too but it seems to work. Smiley If you hit and so does he, its so much better.

Not optimal strategy for a single table gig where the winner takes all, but you do have to accumulate chips even if you are starting only 5 places "from the money".

it was a show like pnl , online poker and it was a $20 sit n go

not great strategy in my mind to raise to 300 ( out of 2000 ) in middle position with 33

but Grub '' would like to have seen '' it

Ahh, well in that case fair enough Smiley Grub needs a lesson from Tank and Wardonkey in optimum STT strategy.
