I bought the cheapest TomTom on the market, it has been one of the best things I've ever bought. I couldn't do without it now and Mrs Red loves it. Since we got it she drives herself to places she woud never attempt before, like central London or Birmingham city center. It's when you need to find a particular house, a new casino, or a factory on an industrial estate that they come into their own.

Also gives you your ETA - which is handy.

The speed camera locations is also a nice thing to have.  Not many road atlases give you a warning when you're coming up to a speed camera, or location where there are regular speed checks.

I work for a company that sells Sat Navs amongst many other things..

what our customers tell us is that for overall ease of use customers tend to prefer the Tom Tom's

Then all you have to do is decide how much and where u are going to use it:

TomTomOneGB- basic database for UK
TomTomOneEurope- basic database for Europe
TomTom510- good database for UK, major roads of Europe, bluetooth, speed camera database
TomTom710-good database for UK and Europe, plus 510's bits n bobs
TomTom910- good database for UK, Europe, USA and Canade, plus 510's bits n bobs, plus 20Gb hard drive, plus lots of other stuff

SatNav also gives you a more accurate indication of the speed you are going than your speedo.  So it helps you stay within the speed limits as well.

The location of the speed cameras isn't to avoid detection for speeding - it's to highlight accident blackspots and make sure you're more aware of what's going on...
