Couldn't sleep all last night. My bedroom happens to be right under the chimney, which people have been telling me for years needs to be replaced as it is in imminent danger of collapse.... Sad

I used nearly £10 more diesel coming back from Newcastle yesterday (265 miles), than it took to get there on Friday... so I guess there was a fair bit of 'southerly' in it?

We were staying in Brighton - it was like sleeping in a wind tunnel - noise was dreadful and we heard all sorts of bangs and crashes outside - we were on the seafront. On the way home on Sunday we saw the fireworks factory explode in Lewes - massive bright light lit up the whole sky like a bomb - it was like this weekend was the end of the world. Very scary.
