I got to 293.
Using the number of letters in the words 'apple' and 'apples', then adding the actual numbers on.
1 x 5(apple) = 5
5 x 6(apples) = 30
11 x 6(apples) = 66
25 x 6(apples) = 150
Hence 42 + 251 = 293.

Gotta be worth half a pint.

honest this was the question on channel great british quiz this morning (5am)

they gave the answer in the end

i couldnt work out how they got that number

i even counted the number of letters and used them
