Hi Guys,

After alot of problems with delivery I have finally got my hands on my laptop. Lets just hope this one works ok.

I turned it on last night and thought I would check everything was working ok. My wireless router has not yet arrived so I tried to log onto a neighbours service just to make sure it worked, and then planned to log off.

I found 3/4 networks but their was no signal available on any of them. This I thought was strange but it could have been the distance possibly.

I brought my laptop into work today as our sister company that are in the other end of the building- 20 metres away -  have a wireless network.

The same has happened again - I can get only 1 bar maximum, and that is not often, usually no bars at all.

Am I doing something wrong!!!

Are these other networks that you are borrowing open (no security settings) or are they password protected? Also, have you logged onto any of them in the past (ie you roughly know how strong the signal is in the places you're trying to connect)?

I could see 5 networks with 2 having no security attached to them . After speaking to a guy at work it seems all is well.
