Gives me great pleasure to pass on my particular favourites:

Ben Webster,  the greatest tenor saxophonist (brings tears to your eyes).

Ramsey Lewis, download his 'Time Flies' album and you'll want to get everything this great pianist has ever done, including his funk band 'Urban Knights'.

Gene Harris,    another great pianist.

Female Singers: Ella, Billie H, Madellaine Peyroux

Male:               early Al Jarreau, Michael Buble, early Ray Charles, George Benson(Breezin' is a great album)

and don't forget the King..........LOUIS ARMSTRONG

                enjoy.

PS.  You could probably convert your wife by introducing her to jazz through the recent work of Jamie Cullum, Madellaine Peyroux, Michael Buble and Norah Jones. All good artists and very modern. It's worked
        with my daughters!
