Wireless connections

Hi

ive set up laptop number 1 successfully some time ago. it was simple to do. im trying to set up another laptop to my wirelss connection through the router. it appears to have an infrared wireless device on the 2nd laptop but it wont make a connection. can someone advise if its possible to set this connection up via an infra red device?

you'll be back lol. sorry, but these things are notoriously troublesome to set up. It'll probably revolve around the encryption keys. let us know how you get on. Try to go for a well known brand that is the same as the one you are already using.

took me 2 mins to set up and working like a dream. it came with a disc which  i loaded stright away. literally no probs and this wee lappie thats been tucked away in a cupoard is now fully functioning and faster than my old faithful. its a micra digital at 20 quid. a 802.11g wireless cardbus adaptor tightpaul and thankfully im not back asking questions, just thanking kinboshi
