In this case definitely not........................

Ladies and Gentlemen if you have missed it, and some of you may, there is a new "This is the Open" on at 8pm. It should have featured a bird from the north west, whose team beat my galant fellows in the heads up competition, but due to unforeseen circumstances she couldn't make it.It does feature in parts a fat glass wearing bald bloke playing in the open on his lappie whilst sitting in the comfort of his front room. The said individual spouts off on a number of topics and behaves in a truly abject manner when knocked out. It is a truly pitiful performance which should bring much pleasure to the sadists on the site.

I would however like to thank Sky for managing to squeeze the kids in as they are tremendously pleased with themselves.

I have been lucky enough to do some truly remarkable things since taking up the game 4 years ago.
I have been on a Ladbrokes cruise, been to the WPT in Bahamas, been to the WSOP, been to the Irish Open, played in numerous festivals all over the country and all from winning satellites. Oh and I have been on TV.

Most luckily I have met some truly wonderful people many of whom are regulars on this site. It was great seeing so many of you at the blonde bash. When people ask me what is the greatest thing about poker the answer for me is always the same......the people. There is though one person who went on TV after the first time we met and said on air "What a nice bloke Phil Cooklin is". He put me, two years later, forward to go on Sky. He truly cares about the game and is a great friend to those around him. If he reads this I know he will be going bright red but Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Tikay.

My first public misread. I recall it as if it were yeserday - it was at Southampton, in the early days of Poker 425, maybe Spring 2005? And - hows this for geeky trivia? - you were embarrassed to be interviewed for TV, as you had not shaved, & was worried about what your Parents would say? Am I right, or what?

But do try & watch Phil tonight, Chnnel 846, at 8pm - if only to see his kids. And his shirt.
