Sincere apologies if I'm being thick here, was it not you Kev that started this thread asking for feedback?

Or have I totally misread the last post?

Geo

LOL no mate you are not being thick, i just need to gauge the support for the events that we put on for the membership.

I use the 2k Gtd events and the sats as benchmarks for the interest we can expect if we ran festival sats... (comps where the winner could choose to use the winnings to buy into an event)

What I am saying is that IF i changed the name of the 2k Gtd to say sat for ..xxxx event and still offered a 2k gtee would we suddenly get more runners ?

so making the 2k gaurentee 4 seats guarneteed to cardiff with pay outs in 500$ chunks you mean?

nah i think you would get more leaving it the way it is at present

I agree. Changing it would put off more people who couldn't/wouldn't go to Cardiff than it would attract.

Part of the attraction of satellite packages generally is all that it offers over and above paying for everything yourself. With a WSOP seat, whilst I know that I won a prize which could just as easily have been $15,000 in cash, it was the extras which made it special. The fact I didn't have to buy myself in, or book the hotel. That there were parties and extra tournaments etc.

For me, the best idea to get people playing regularly is league/leaderboard type things. We're a competitive bunch of arseholes here and generally can't resist a chance to lay down savage bad beats on each other.

Now we aren't.  Heads up match to determine who's right.  Winner takes all.

Agree with Andrew here, increase the frequency of games offered and don't burden yourself with gauranteed comps if there is likely to be large overlays. Can't speak for anyone other than myself obviously but i don't look to get any more value out of a blonde comp other than perhaps you, kinboshi and a few welsh at my table  disco

I appreciate you are trying to build up the players on blonde and think a league is the most likely way to get new sign ups. One off comps are fine but I can't see too many registering for one comp. That was my reason for downloading blonde i had been lurking for a while and decided to join in the league (here comes the chirp) played only my 2nd omaha tourney and spanked the lot of you!!!

I like the idea of a league with top 10 results counting for your final score. $3-$10 buying sounds good, not arsed about sats tbh.
