I've used InsureandGo for the last 6-8 years as I have to include snowsports/ equipment and they are very reasonable costs about £70 per year family cover for me and Mrs Delboy

Shop about.... Depends on what you are doing while away, where you are going, and your situation, but the most improtant fact... Be 100% honest in giving your details...

The best one I ever got was from Kwik Fit very cheap (yes the tyre place) and my pregnant wife fell down the stairs in Turkey and done her ankle in... The service was great... They arranged special flights and doctors for her and the babs....They phoned us all the time to make sure we were okay....

I always book travel insurance through moneysupermarket.  It will compare loads of policies for you, then you can just pick the best one to suit your needs, at very reasonable prices (eg my last trip to Vegas covered for £12)

good idea to check your credit or bank cards, sometimes they include travel insurance and you may only be paying twice if you take out separate cover.

Good note Crippin, also anyone who works in an insurance company generally have free holiday insurance. I work for Lloyds TSB and all we have to do is notify them of our dates/ destination and we are covered.
