Read an interview with Jamie Gold somewhere recently, can't remember where, but probably Pokerplayer mag. In it he states that he had a couple of big mates providing minder cover for him as he was advised that he would get all sorts of threats (physical/verbal/psychological??) as he closed in on winning the ME.

What do you make of this?

Has anyone heard such unscrupilous (sp?) behaviour at the FT before?

Should this advice be heeded by 'Skalie' as he enters the FT in such a promising position? (Is it therefore a good thing that he has such a vocal Rail supporting him?) Does the fact that he is a non american increase the threat to him, if in fact it does exist at all?

Look forward to lots of tales being embellished along with everyones opinions on the various questions raised...

Have you met Jon?

Apart from being a very nice guy he's a big lad and looks like he can look after himself!

I'm sure him being a Brit reduces any threat (if one exists in the first place) - especially with the support he'll have from the rail.
