Anyone see any danger to this double?

Portsmouth to finish above Sunderland
Sheff Utd to finish above Sheff Weds

The double pays slightly over 7/5.(2.40)

Can't see a problem with it but it's going to take nearly a year to see it through and in the mean time  you've tied up money for a bet just over evens.

Is it worth it?

cheers Silo, At 7/5 its quite a way over evens if you dont mind betting at shorter odds over a length of time. I suppose it's all dependent on your view of betting but Im happy to wait that length of time for a decent investment to mature.

Have you had any footy bets mate?

Just a thought, I just don't like money sitting around for that long

Just one small bet so far for me

Man U and Chelsea both to win at about 1.55.  Should be easy enough money.    I'm taking it easy this season and going for a system that involved Man U and Chelsea winning when they don't play each other or one of the other top 4 teams.  Should return a profit over the season.  I usually end up doing stupid systems over the course of the season, usually one goal or more betting.

I'll just look as the weeks go by for my bets.

You wont go far wrong there Silo, I used to have a similar ploy with the Rangers/Celtic double.

Looks like a decent bet bobby, but not a great one.  Like Silo said I'm not too keen on having season-long bets, mainly because I wouldn't be able to stake enough to make it worthwhile really. Here's my tuppance:

I think Sheff Utd will either be really good or really bad this year - as in either they get automatically promoted or miss the play-offs by a fair bit.  My friend is a die hard Blade and he isn't too confident with Robson in charge.  As for Pompey and Sunderland, I think its hard to determine how either of these will do at the moment - Pompey with a lot of new players and Sunderland being the new boys.

Saying that, If I had to pick one team over the other in this bet I'd certainly be plumping for the same route as you.

Good luck!
