Anybody here ever completely change their circumstances?

Basically decided you've had enough of hating your job and setting about doing something completely different?

How did you find it?
What did you do?

What a great question...

Yes 10 or so years ago, I decided the little village in Wales was not enough for me, went for an interview with Club 18-30, got the job, and left the UK for what was 4 years in total. Quit work, did not tell my parents until 3 days before i was due to fly out and that was that, and had what I can only describe as the best time of my life.. 4 years of pure working my bottom off, along with drinking partying and well other things u know...

I still came back though !!! mm

Don't know if it was the 'restless' gene or what but...

1. 1998 cashed everything for 40k and moved to Egypt and started my own business, (1 x Egyptian partner + 1 x Kuwati partner..he had the cash lol), converting a Nile Cruiser to a floating nightclub and restaurant.

2. 2001 missed England so cashed out.

3. 2005 had enough of London so cashed out and moved to Aberdeen, (work transfer basis)

4. 2007 Jacked in work to play online full time.

5. 2007 Can't stand the isolation of playing online full time so am returning to work and off to Angola in 4 weeks..

6. Who knows

Decided I'd had enough of being a corporate whore in 2002 and decided to jack in a nice job with all the perks etc to join my Dad as a partner in his trophy business.

Haven't regretted it once.  Well, I sort of miss the money I was on sometimes, but my life is 100% better now and I don't regret it for one minute.

Would love to make a big change again, but I can't talk the missus in to what I want to do just yet Cheesy

If it feels right to do it, go for it.  No matter what happens, you'll regret it more not doing it.

Lots of Crocodiles.   My Dad was going to go work there, however he opted for Libya at the last minute instead. Both nice peaceful holiday destinations  Cheesy

No, im only 22 yet but i have always known what i have wanted to be and have my own goals laid out and have achieved a lot of them already.

I love the job im in at the moment and it has huge potential for the future if i wanted to work my way upto the top but i want to go back to uni in 2 septembers time which will mean 5 yrs of my life as a bum again but thats why i play poker, to help subsidise me and i grind a tidy profit to add onto my proper jobs salary so hopefully that can keep me going when i have to give up the job to go back.

My Goals for the near future are to win the GUKPT final and pass my bike test and get a motorbike beofre the summer/autumn.

GL everybody else with their goals.
