OK, played a tourney here at the horseshoe in Tunica this afternoon. $20 odd grand in the prize pool, 70 players or so started. I feel this is my forte, midsize tourneys. Been playing for about 5 hours, down to about 15. Top ten get paid, but decent money only really at the top end.

I have about 20K, a bit under the average, blinds at 800/1600. Not really in mortal danger yet. I look down and see  in the small blind. Folded round to the button, who goes all in. My read on is he has pushed the previous hand and taken the blinds. He has about 15K.

Of course, I called. BB folded (I knew he would, he was already looking out his cigs and lighter!).

Button turns over    Two Clubs  . A 2 on the flop sends me into the critical stage and I exit soon after.

Should I have let it go ?

As an aside, I played a $60 freeze tonight ($15 juice from that) , at "Sams town casino" which attracted 80 players -casino had added a grand to the prize pool. This meant a pool of $4600, and a not to shabby first prize of $2000. Except we never got that far - we got to the final table, and to be fair all the stacks were pretty even. At which point everybody decided they just wanted to chop it !!! I disagreed with this, and was met with a volley of abuse. Even the cardroom manager was pressuring me to accepting the deal.

Reluctantly I agreed, and was then "told" to leave $50 tip for the dealers. I told them to stick it up there arses took my $460 and left. I dont expect to be back at "Sams Town" anytime soon.

Off downstairs again for some $2/$4 action at the Gold Strike. Maybe I will bump into some of my friends from before Smiley

The call with aq looks fine to me and the btn would have to extremely nitty to consider passing. As for the sams town episode it is tty disgraceul behaviour from the cardroom manager and as for the other playerspretty standard idiots.

the way it was put to me was that "look the dealers dont make much money from dealing tournament games, and they would prefer to be dealing cash" which could also have been interpreted as "look we have tolerated you cheapskate tourney players enough, and we want the table back so we can rake the crap outta another cash game".

And I am not in vegas, i was in Tunica, mississippi. The horseshoe was my favourite place, since the cardroom manager comped my very nice room (and told me to call him directly next time i come back), and the whole place was night and day compared with Scams Town. I am certainly no high limit player, but was made to feel very special.

1. Call every day of the week.

2. Most ridiculous deal ever, and that's saying something.

3. It's YOUR money, not the dealers. Tell 'em to F Off.

4. Never play there again. (Sam's Town)  Oh, and post this on 2+2.
