Thanks for posting these results Tikay. I looked everywhere for them at close of play at the weekend. I was in the event last year and it was a great experience. Congrats to Liv and all the other final tableists. Great to see Bev Pace in the top 10 again. Well done

Incoming today, this from Ladbrokes.....

May 5, 2008

Ladbrokes Poker European Ladies Championship is won by Liv Boeree

The Ladbrokes Poker European Ladies Championship enjoyed its biggest field ever this weekend with 52 runners.  The women's only tournament was a veritable list of who's who in European ladies poker.  Runners included a number of top European female players including Annette Obrestad, Bev Pace, Michelle Orpe, Katherine Hartree, Liv Boeree and poker journalist Shelley Rubenstein to name but a few.  All were playing for a first prize of $30,000 and a WSOP main event package, having either qualified online at Ladbrokes for $5 or'buying-in' to the event for $2,000.

Is buying-in in inverted commas for a particular reason?

I must admit it was a good game.  I had a good table to start with Annette to my immediate left and the winner was also on this table, which made it good table, started off playing my A game but then it just wasn't my day in the end, made a mistake trying to push a young girl off her j's with AK, not to be. Could really have done with the game being at a different time as it was all a mad rush of a weekend. All for $30 so can't complain, will certainly go for it next year not because it is Ladies Only but for the value. It runs rings around the Bet Fred Ladies games that ( unless they have changed the structure this year ) just turn into a total crap shoot.

apparently the first event of the Betfred tour this year only pulled 41 runners.  With a £20,000 sponsorship package still up for grabs for the eventual tour champion there could be some good value in it this year.
