same with the donkey that won the national. Bandit (of all people) tips it and I tell him "wow, found a great bit of value there @40-1"..but  do I back it at 40-1? Do I bollox...drove me nuts. I am not taking them risks again..spot a bit of value..stick a bit on Smiley

yeah thats what its all about i think, not picking outsiders, just a selection whose odds are far too big, thats the great thing about the internet, no walking round betting shops all day, click of a button youve got the best odds in the country

Yeah..though I love to go into the bookies and place a bet, the exchanges have it for me. Wish I had a roll for laying off horses though.

yeah, if you know how certain horses run there races ,you can lay some big bets knowing the horse will not run a good race and will drift big, Harry Findlay gave a brilliant 2part interview on telly during cheltenham, hes made a fortune off the exchanges,

Hold up Boldie, lets get this clear - Bandit picked the 2nd in the National, not the winner.  2nd was the best it could do after Bandit tipped it.

Good luck with this bet though Boldie.

I saw that the jockey booked was Olivier Peslier,  that convinced me to invest on the nose following two previous 20/1+ wins in classics with this jockey on High Rise in the Derby and Cockney Rebel in last year's English 2000 Guinneas.

strange..ussually the St James' palace stakes betting opens fairly early...I think Ibn Khaldoun might go for it...rather than the Derby.  I also think that it will be the return of Winker Watson.

He never looked comfortable on the going and I wouldn't touch him again on this going.

Thankfully my favourite trainer / jockey combo of Michael Jarvis & Philip Robinson had a good day, make that a few good days, Thursday was pretty sweet too.
