suppose it may be restricted to advertising sales. There was a big plc company many years ago that had 100s of commision only reps. It as taken over by the prudential who tried to implement different regimes on all the top sales staff. They bought the company for £8m if memory serves me right in about 1989 and it closed within about 18 months when all the different product managers simply left and set up their own companies with their staff and products.

I have over the years been offered sales posts with the likes of Yellow pages and thompsons etc with silly basic salaries and huge OTE but the simple fact is you are tied into strict targets and hours you have to work. I work to live not live to work though.
