I'll write up fuller if you don't get a link posted, but meanwhile to answer your questions: 8 players per hand. Usually not a problem with 2 or 3 max showing down, but community cards might be needed if it is multi. Rules may vary regionally as to whether there can be any more betting after a community card is dealt. Everything gets shuffled back in APART from the burn cards. A shuffle is reqd if there aren't enough cards in the deck to burn a card, deal 1 card per player AND have 1 card minimum left. Again there might be some local variation as to whether a 2nd reshuffle is permitted in the same hand or not.

I find it's best to play with two decks then the game can comfortably accomodate ten players.

Lordy. It's a sick game with 1 deck. It must all go in every time with 2 decks...

In the Midlands and at Dusk Till Dawn the burnt cards are always re-shuffled.It's only padooki where the burnt cards are never shuffled back in.

This is a PM i got from 77Dave on the subject a few months ago when I was curious about the game and knew he played a bit, hope you don't mind me posting this Jim.
We play a 3/3 pot limit game. the button and next player both put in the 3. Everyone gets 5 down cards each and there is a round of betting starting from utg. when betting is complete all remaining plyrs pass 2 cards back to the dealer face down which he mucks. Then all plyrs push forward 1 card away from the other 2. When this is done the dealer will tell the players to turn over. All plyrs turn at the same time. The dealer then burns and turns a face card up for each plyr. If there is a shuffle at a later date the burn cards DONT ever get shuffled back in. When the dealer is running low on cards he needs to have enough cards for a full round he cant shuffle having given some plyrs cards and not others. so if 6 players still in the pot he needs 8 cards as he also needs a bottom card which never gets dealt either.

Those are obv the rules in Luton.
In Manchester and DTD the burns are always shuffled in. Also, you don't need enough cards to deal to everyone at once. The last card isn't dealt, but if there are 5 players left on 5th street and there are 6 cards left, then the burn is dealt and 4 players get cards. The last card is never dealt so there is a re-shuffle for the last players card. There is a burn before he gets it dealt obv. Multiple re-shuffles are allowed if required. 8 player max in a DC game usually, but in stoke they play 7.
When you have selected your discards you either place you card infront as stated before, or its acceptable for it to just be on top of you cards, there is no changing it once people start turning their cards over. And some people say no changing it once you have put out your discards.
I believe, but it has never happened for us. That if you get 8 players to 7th street then you get a community card face up and there is no more betting. That's what happens in most studd hi/lo games anyway.
All discards and folded hands get shuffled in. When the cards run out (exactly) after a round of betting and there are more than 2 players in then the dealer needs to wait and see if a player folds before shuffling as any folded hands need to be included.

We play it at Stoke with the option of having a wild card (any card to make a high and low).
Really juices the pots up & is great fun. Our blinds are £1/£1 however.

They weren't burning in superstudd last time I played in stoke. They sorted that out now?

They weren't burning in superstudd last time I played in stoke. They sorted that out now? Sometimes they do & somethimes they dont. I mentioned that they do at dtd and others but the regulars have got used to no burn card unless the player calling the game stipulates it. Being dealer dealt it doesn't really bother me to be honest.
