I think it's down to pot luck whether you have a decent GP or not.  A couple of years ago I went to see my GP as was having bad pain in my lower abdomen.remember Claw is a female so she won't say what she means    She pushed it, confirmed it hurt like fuck, then said it could be this, it could be that, it'll probably get better on it's own.  go to A&E if you want and they'll give you a scan.  Er, ok......  As I was in pain, I went along to A&E.  waited a couple of hours then saw a doctor there who asked me a few questions, personal but it really hurt so she answered truthfully diagnosed the problem (without a scan) not that difficult as the end bit was bright pink and there was a buzzing sound and gave me some medication (i.e. nothing the GP couldn't have done but they don't like to prescribe happy pills).  Waste of everyone's time. To be fair, you do now have this fascinating story to tell

So I take it you'll remember to take it out when you're done, next time?

sigh

.remember Claw is a female so she won't say what she means - I would say, but then you'd all just moan about it being tmi! suffice to say it was nasty, and not just something being stuck!!
