The rate the snow is falling I may not be even going - it's a winter wonderland in Northampton!
Yes, I am watching train departure boards with increasing sadness.
Stupid snow.
After all my apprehension about the journey, once I got on the delayed train, it took me just 2hr 20min to get from Euston to inside my room at the Village hotel. Not only that, but connecting train heaven meant
I only spent about 90 seconds in Birmingham New Street station, which is a result. As is my hotel room having free wi-fi plus sky sports on the telly which means I can watch the cricket.
Good Call Andrew, you are getting down with your Railway Station Ratings now.
Birmingham New Street is Network Rail's answer to Luton Airport - it sucks. Dark, dingy, poor train viewing choice, (so many of Wooly Jumper's Plastic Trains), bare concrete, no platform furniture, lacks character. In fact, you run bad, because Euston sucks, too.
I plan to arrive at The Village at around 11am Saturday, to prepare for the big day, & hook up with Central Command (Des & Tighty) - mine's a pot of tea, please.
See you there.
