I've remembered the other question now. How do I stop google from anticipating what I'm going to type into the search box?

Right-click in the search box, untick Show Suggestions.

This will still suggest things from your previous searches, but not from the whole of Google.

Yes. It's unticked but still showing suggestions from previous searches.

Tools > Options > Privacy

There's a checkbox to untick there.
