The guy who has fired the One O'Clock Gun (and scaring the crap out of tourists  Cheesy) in Edinburgh for the last 25 years, Tam the Gun, has passed away.

Among tributes to him GNER are going to name a train after him.....

Naming something that will be habitually late in tribute to a guy who has been bang on time for 25 years..... irony of the highest order.

Other unsuitable tributes.... The Colchester Kev Vegetable Garden..... The TK Youth Centre....

Any more?

Sad news Rod. I am an Edinburgh Lass though not been back for years now and that bleeding gun used to scare the living daylights out of me too while browsing Princes Street  scared  As a youngster used to go up town with me mates in the summer just to see the tourists run for cover pmsl Often thought that if I was to rob a bank that would be the ideal time to blow the safe  Cheesy
