Just looking around Betfair today, i found a few bets a fancy for the end of season run in, ive chosen 4 competitions, and going to lump them on a reasonably high stake Yankee (Acca/Trebles/Doubles) (Well its high stakes for my gambling bank roll anyway)

Yankee => 11 Bets @ £5 each = £55 Staked

1/ Champions League Winner 2008/09 - Barcelona @ 4.01
2/ UEFA Cup Winner 2008/09 - Valencia @ 9.29
3/ Barclays Premier League Winner 2008/09 - Man Utd @ 1.8
4/ The Championship Winner 2008/09 - Reading @ 2.46

Possible Returns:

6 x Doubles:

1+2 - £180
1+3 - £31
1+4 - £44
2+3 - £78
2+4 - £110
3+4 - £20

4 Trebles:

1+2+3 - £330
1+2+4 - £453
1+3+4 - £84
2+3+4 - £201

1 Accumulator:

1+2+3+4 - £820

Obviously if i get the accumulator up, i get the doubles and trebles too, which is a grand total Potential Return of:

£2,350

Opinions Please?

I think 3/1 is far too short in the champions league where there is 10+ teams with not much between them, Utd is fair, Valencia need to hope Milan get knocked out somewhere, Reading is a good price imo

Wolves were same price @ 2.44, this one was bothering me, but i think the weekend results help sway me towards Reading, the Hunt brothers are awesome together.

I didn't like the 3/1, but in all honesty, having watched them all season, i can't see anyone beating them in the CL this year.

As for Milan, they are too old a side to put up with the likes of David Villa, Silva etc. Valencia very strong side at the mo

The spanish game is so hot after their European Glory summer

Barca are my 4th pick for the CL.  The winner of Inter v Man U will be go on to win it all imo.  Atletico Madrid are a decent outside bet.

Reading and Man U for me are the certainties.   Not sure I would get involved in a £55 yankee bet though at those prices.  I think Barca may well win CL certainly the best team I have seen this year an Guardiola has started to get them playing the way he wants them to and it seems to be working.

But at those prices I couldn't back them.

You probs makre more mney on Barca just running an acca on them winning the games they play en-route to final.
