I think the benefit of a pot bet here vs villain's stacks is that the info you get is going to be of a decent quality. If either of them actually call that bet I'm not liking my hand, and if they both jam I'm not liking my hand. If both fold then ok, and if one jams it's quite possible you're up against a pair/draw combo, draw or over-pair. If you bet less the stations could call and you're a bit lost on the turn and if you check you're a bit lost if they bet. The situation would be more complicated if both had you covered imo.
