Students v Pros - Heads-Up Challenge - tikay knocks 'em dead.

Yesterday (Sunday) the University Poker League Amateurs v Pros Grand Final took place, at The Village Hotel, Walsall, 6pm.

His blondeness was supposed to organise everything, including the Pro's team, & introductory speeches.

But, being the inconsiderate git he is, he was still in the Main Event across the road at The Midland Masters. He came back for Day Two with a paltry 6,600 chips, went in blind time & after time, & doubled up each time, eventually reaching 60,000. He busted out around 7pm, after "letting me" organise everything. Good job I'd been considerate enough to dump all my chips off in level 3, on Day One, just so I could be available.

as it happens, Dave had organised most of the team, I just had to find 3 or 4 guys to make up the Ten.

This was the Pro's Team.

Pascal Perrault. French, pah, but what  top bloke. Went across & was a real Gent.

Lucy Rokach. Top Lady, but she barracked me mercilessly when I was playing. Jealousy I guess, she admires my aggression at the poker table.

Joe Grech.

Mad Marty Wilson, fresh fom his victory in Blackpool, he is on a roll, this was his second victory in 42 years.

Dave Colclough. Managed to win ONE of his 2 matches, & got lucky to do that.

Ashley Revell. The geezer that sold his house to put all the money on "red", in Las Vegas.

Al Alvarez. What an amazing guy - he wrote "The Biggest Game in Town". He's 137 years old.

Tony Holden, author of "Big Deal".

The Students were a terrific bunch, great lads, all of them.

A free buffet was laid on, plus lots of Alcohol - though, oddly, NO non-alchocolic drinks!

The comp was a tremendous success. The pros won 11-9, & I won both my matches, very easily.

No, Roy Houghton was the Tournament Director. I'm racking my brains to remember who the Tenth player was.
