In an idle moment I was perusing the European Rankings when i happened to click on the name 'E Barker'. I noticed that in 2003 he won three tournies on the trot in Teeside with 88, 87, and 46 players, details here http://www.pokerineurope.com/playerprofiles/detail.php?playerid=1783.

Some achievement, just wondered if anyone was there and remembers this? I'm guessing some if not all of these tournies would have been chopped, but would be interested to hear the story behind this success.

Eric "The Screw" Barker...completely fearless Geordie. Nightmare to play against, butthe good thing is as fast as he collects chips, he can lose em just as quick

No, none of those three consecutive victories on successive nights at Teeside were choped, Eric rarely does deals.

He's known as Eric "The Screw" Barker, as he used to be a prison guard at one time, or so the story goes.

He's an "any 2 cards" merchant, & a fantastic table companion. Top bloke, really.
