Just downloaded Pokerstars.net Million Dollar Challenge. Surely the most cringingly awful show ever. Negranu will do anything. It makes even Sky Poker look like Poker Night Live;-)

Joe Hachem's 'The Poker Star' could tip the scale for the biggest pile of gash ever created...think The Apprentice meets Ace In The House.

you gotta realise that these shows aren't made / targeted at experienced knowledgeable poker players like yourself. the target demographic is recreational players, people that barely know that a flush beats a straight etc. the more of those getting interested in poker and opening accounts online the better, so the more shows like these the better

Correct.

The poker market as we know it is far too small to interest TV companies much. So the target audience of most is the small-beer recreational player market, whch is absolutely huge.

There is almost no money at all in offerring poker shows to appeal to the big boys. The value is not there.

So did I!

That'll be the almost universally loved & missed Poker Night Live which went belly up because though viewers enjoyed it - remember the howls of protest when they announced closure? - they never played on the Online Room PNL was promoting. So it went busto.
