Morning all fellow blondites

Thought i'd give you a quick run down of whats been happening over here over the past 48 hours.

Firstly the poker room at the Rio is something to behold. A vast expanse setup with 200 tables plus a stage area/lighting etc for the final table. Quite a magnificent site when empty which is i had the privelege of seeing yesterday at 6.00 am having failed miserably to get any sleep. Come 7.00am though the sheer magnitude of this event was becoming apparent as there was a queue of 25 people waiting to buy in for today's event.

I had prepaid for a few events the previous evening so took leave of the satellites and headed back to the hotel for a bit of R&R and some real poker online  Smiley

I decided to pop back to the Rio (staying at the Gold Coast - a short but dangerous hop across the road!) to play the 7.00pm Super Sat. Much to my surprise i was told that to register i would have to join the general queue for registrations. This normally wouldnt be a prblem except a few enquiries produced the general consensus was that the queue was FOUR hours long! Luckily a sharp mgt type  installed a quick queue for the sat and only 30 mins late we started. Another 20 mins later and after a couple of rebuys i was lookingfor a live game having been quickly reminded of how much value there is over here playing satellites, but not forgetting what a minefiled of differnt speces of FISH you have to avoid to make use of it.

Anyway cutting a long story short I leave at about 12.30am and the queue is showing no signs of diminishing. I bump into the recently arrived Dave C and the Doc and persuade them to drown there jet lag in a swift pint. Both have decided to give the 4 hour queue a miss. This is just as well as half an hour later an ebullient Fougeron and his French friend come over and tell us (quite happily i may add) that they are alternate numbers 47 and 48 for today's event ($1500 NL freezeout). I am not sure if it is sold out at 2000 or 2200 players but it looks certain to generate a millionaire winner!

The event is due to last 2 days but i heard a rumour last night that they may extend to 3. We start with only 1500 in chips but the clock is 1 hour and starting blinds are 25 25.

Am off now to get some grub but a quick thought for any of you who are coming out here. It may well be worth registering online (i have met a few people who have done this) for the events you want to play. I think it may just be because this is the first event but you never know!!!!

Will log in when i can with some English Updates

Cheers

Nick
