One thing about the Hearns - the work ethic there is extraordinary. Anyway, Eddie has been busy. And so will Kara.
"....DANIEL NEGREANU AND VANESSA ROUSSO TO MAKE PREMIER LEAGUE DEBUTS
KID POKER AND LADY MAVERICK ADDED TO IMPRESSIVE VEGAS LINE-UP!
Matchroom Sport is delighted to announce that four-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Rousso have joined the line up forpartypoker Premier League Poker IV in Las Vegas, with the main event running from 12-18th February. Negreanu and Rousso will face defending champion JC Tran, 11-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, Tony G and Roland de Wolfe in the 12-player tournament.
"I am a bit of a stats geek and I'm a big fan of unique tournaments with point systems,” said Negreanu. “Playing in this event requires a different type of strategy and I thoroughly enjoy trying to figure out what the best approach is, then implementing it, and hoping it works!"
Rousso said: “I am honoured to have been invited to take part in one of the most exclusive worldwide poker television events out there. Ultimately, it is with great enthusiasm that I have decided to accept their invitation, and I look forward to challenging myself against some of the world's greatest players at the Premier League!”
“It’s taken me a long time to get Daniel into the Premier League but I know it’s going to be worth the wait,” said Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Sport. “He is one of the biggest entertainers in poker and a great player – the perfect criteria for the Premier League. It’s going to be fascinating watching him lock horns with the games greats in the new deep stack structure.”
“There was only one target when selecting a female player for the league. Vanessa has become a huge force in poker and her win at the EPT High Rollers event coupled with her runners-up finish at the NBC Heads-Up Championship as well as a string of WSOP cashes has made her, in my opinion, the world’s number one female player right now.”
This year, PartyPoke ran qualifiers to find a total of 16 players who all fly out to Las Vegas to play in a Premier League Poker play-off to see which one of the 16 will be lucky enough to join the 11 professional players in Premier League Poker IV. This year’s Premier League will carry a total prize pool of $1.5 million (US$300,000 added by PartyPoker). The Premier League is organized by Matchroom Sport and will be presented by Kara Scott.
JC Tran won Premier League III after taking down the most formidable final table in the event’s history! Tran, widely regarded as one of the finest and consistent tournament professionals on the circuit scooped the $300,000 first prize in the elite tournament that saw 12 of the world’s finest players battle it out for a $1.25 million prize pool! Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan, Juha Helppi, Tony G, Roland de Wolfe and Peter Eastgate all made the final table......"
