A friend of mine had hers stolen a couple of weeks ago on a night out.  She got a criminal report form from the police or something or that nature, but the insurance is still being awkward with her/refusing to give her a new one.  Her excess was also £50.

I wouldn't recommend anyone saying they've lost it.

there is a back up function on itunes, depending how much stuff you have on there it will take between half an hour and an hour to to save everything and then the same to put it back on the new one. I did it recently and the onyl thing it didn't save was the ring tones.

The mrs dropped hers recently and cracked the screen, she reported it and 2 days later they picked it up and gave her a new one, it was the 3G S version so it was result as she didn't have the video camera and a few other things before.
