Off Topic, GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I dropped out of sixth form college in 98 I've had two jobs neither of which were particularly fulfilling, but I loved the people and they paid the bills so I stuck at them and just went with the flow.
This year after much encouragement from friends, colleagues etc I decided that I really ought to try and get into a proper career.  Anyone who knows me knows that a job working with kids would be perfect for me and I felt that teaching would be the way to go.  Problem is it's not easy to get into teaching with just gcses.  So after much consideration I decided that Uni would be the way to go.  So I applied but unfortunately was deemed not suitable for the Teaching degree I was going for.  BUT, they thought I would be suitable for another course and did I have any other courses I wished to be considered for.  There were a couple of courses that I thought would suit me, both would givve me a path to working with kids but also were in areas where I have a lot of voluntary experience in anyway.    So they put me forward for those.

Went out for works Xmas lunch yesterday got absolutely out of my tree, left work and went to my local after, stayed until 22:30 and went home to find.....
an acceptance letter from the Uni saying I am in the HND Activity and Play leadership course!!

I know I've got a long way to go and I know I should be getting it quietly etc, but at the moment I'm just happy to have got in.

So sorry if I bored you but am well happy at the moment and just want to tell everyone

Certainly an option tighty, it does help that the area in Swansea I'll be living in has two table tennis centres either side.  SO I won't be missing out on that.

Passing your HND will normally get you direct entry onto Year 2 of a Degree course, so you never know you may just reach your original goal anyhow!

THanks Trace, that was the plan, just have to see how it goes.  There's a few people including myself, who are unsure whether I've got the organisation skills to be a teacher so I might look at other avenues.

But that's a long way off yet!!
