saw this situation yesterday. A mate was in last 3of a tournie. He had 1.6m, first villain who has been sitting out disconnected for 15minutes has 285k and third vilain has 345k. blinds were 5k/10k, obv hero was being really aggresive and raising every hand, what should villain 2's strategy be/ranges etc.

should try and get to 2nd with about 20bigs, not that much different to having 30bb really, however, locks up 2nd place no probs. even though it does mean feeling like a girl for a bit

If cl is shoving every hand, 2nd has 2 options, guarantee 2nd and fold, or know cl range and pick him off once with an Ace or pair 77+

Hero should obv be shoving every hand. Villain two spades range will depend on the pay jumps, OPR is pretty essential here - if the money is significant to villain 2 then he'll be calling tight, probably 88+, AT. Doesn't really matter though we're still shoving every hand he's never calling wide enough to make it a mistake for hero to shove every hand

This was a fun spot... guy basically folded down to same stacks with dc player, to then snap my alll in with kj. I had 55 and he was flopped dead.

Neat trick, that.

Even if he folds every hand, he never gets down to the same stack at the DC player, unless I am misunderstanding something.
