So why Don't We all pay for it then Sell advertising slots in it???  Like lets say Sky poker payed £?? to have a add running that tighy would keep posting and so on

because you would be posting ads to an online competitor of DTD Online or G Casino Online even though the updates are focussed on the venue, the venues still own online operations

The Live updates would need permission of venue, permission of new sponsor and then funding assuming venue isn't to be asked..but would also need to be clear of competitor advertising

Sorry Guys, this is all very lovely, & we are really appreciative of the community spirit.

But......

It's being assumed that DTD will allow us to do Updates. I think that is a dangerous assumption, if you don't mind me saying so.

They have, pointedly perhaps, & despite the fact that they share a lot of under-the-radar stuff with me, not told me or us what their plans are. Note they have not commented even once upon the welter of "let's keep the blonde/DTD Updates" comments which, in itself, is a clue, do you not think?

I remain on good terms with all at DTD, & don't wan't to see them backed into an embarrassing corner, really.

But it's my understanding that there WILL still be DTD Live Updates. Just not on blonde. There may, or may not, be commercial issues over which we have no control here.

Updates away from DTD are another matter, & if Members want to chip in a few bob, I'll certainly stand my corner, & then some. I have in mind at least one per Month, maybe a GUKPT, & some other stuff. If I can find a little funding, I'll top it up personally if & as long as I can manage it. 

DTD Updates on blonde are the cornerstone of this Site, & will be much missed, no doubt about it. But I just don't want to make what is increasingly looking like an embarrassing position worse than it is.  DTD never do stuff without careful thought, & must have good reasons to sever their ties with blonde. Perhaps a little creative thinking on our part as to how we are, where we are, would be in order. I DO know that DTD were a little less than pleased with some aspects of, err, blonde stuff.

I hope this Post is seen in the constructive way it is intended.

There are several companies that make chip sets or tables or poker clothing that could certainly come some way to contributing some advertising revenue.

It's clear the issue is more compliacated than just funding. No one is wanting to embarass DTD, maybe the situation could be clarified in due course and then members could offer funding if blonde updates are an option at there?

It would be great to keep the updates for the DTD monthly comps and 1k's but even if they do have a deal setup with someone else the GUKPT updates also where good and there was some incred ones in the past.I dont think a thread with people all saying I'll give x amount of £ is the way to do it though as some people might like to give a small but still helpful amount or some might not like to say.I do think it would be great if Blonde had an account on Stars/Paypal or just a bank account setup so that people can choose to give towards future updates and then update the GUKPT's.Not sure if that's still possible but as far as I'm aware the only current updates are a GUKPT blog ?

Of course, but we have nothing to clarify, that has to come from DTD. Everything Rich & I know, pretty much, (aside from a few private matters not wholly relevant) has been Posted by us.

I'd like to add to my earlier Post that if DTD were to allow blonde to continue Updating their Events, naturally, if funding were the issue, I would do whatever I could to assist. In fact, I'd go further - I'll fund the first three myself, though some Community contributions would be better in a way, as it gives ownership. And with ownership, comes responsibility, & care. Which might be a better model......

So that's all I can say, really. If we are granted access, we'll do them, but I think it would be unwise to assume we will. I hope I'm wrong, of course I do.

I have to add, because someone rung me & asked, that I have NOT fallen out with anyone at DTD, (that I know of!), I am still in regular & friendly contact with Nick, Rob & Simon, & I continue to wish them the success they deserve. Unlike my earlier Post, you don't have to read between THAT line.
