Ohh I see, so this noise cancellation/insulation stuff is all about keeping noise in than keeping noise out

Makes so much sense now
Noise insulation and cancellation are different things.
Insulation is about keeping the music sounds in, and the external sounds out. Closed back headphones will be best at both, but you'll probably get better quality sound from open backs at the same price point (the drivers don't have to work so hard with open backs).
Cancellation is an active technology that has a small mic on the outside of the headphones. A bit of electronics then adds the same background sounds into what the headphones are playing, but exactly out of phase, thus cancelling the external sounds out. This can work quite well, but it's very dependent on what external sounds there are.

Mmmmmmm. Tasty.

Same company that makes these:

Only £35k/pair (may be more these days).

I've owned B&W speakers at home for >10 years. Currently on an old pair of 805 Matrix as my main stereo pair. They make truly superb quality stuff.

I actually like the standard apple earphones when playing poker. I like being able to listen to music and still hear what is going on around the table. For everything else tho I prefer decent ones.

Apologies if I've missed them on the thread already, but need some decent ones, only for while on the computer at home, but for fairly long spells so comfort essential.

Like the idea of wireless, but is quality poor?

£50-£70 ideally to spend, thanks.
