I messed around with this at school but completely forgotten all of it. Basically I'm trying to create a very simple program to input poker sessions to. A few buttons, drop down menus etc. I wanna be able to see a graph of results, a list of results and filter between tourneys and cash. That's about it.

I know there are loads of programs that can do this available, but firstly I quite want to make one myself and secondly all of those have tons of boxes etc and make you fill in information that I don't really care about. I don't want loads of clutter on the screen, just a simple process of putting in session date, length, profit and cash/tourney then a few stats like cumulative profit and monthly profit and then have the option to view the database as a graph or lists.

My current excel spreadsheet is alright but I'd like to use the VB stuff within excel to improve it.

[X] have too much time on my hands

Thank youuuu!

There are a few sites that have tools that do all of this for you (of course you can make a spreadsheet do a lot more potentially, but it'd be some graft).

There's the one on the Hendon Mob site - My Poker Diary.  That should do most of what you want from a spreadsheet - plus it has the advantage of being online - so you could update it from your phone, or laptop or whatever.  Poker Dominator is another - others will probably know of lots more.
